Again with this horrible pseudo-science...

Let me explain. The speed of light is constant relative to it's place in time and space...

"The entire theory of a black hole is that light can be attracted by gravity." - Kent Hovind (Federal Correctional Institution, Edgefield, SC)

Wrong. Light is not attracted by gravity. Put simply light travels in a straight line, gravity's effect on space and time determines what a straight line is. A line is only straight relative to it's environment, so without digressing too much it's entirely arguable that there is no such thing as a straight line. C is a constant value of the speed of light that that can be input into an equation.

The earth is, in a sense, traveling in a straight line around the Sun for example.

This is textbook Kent Hovind, besides tax fraud, there's one other thing he's great at. And that is using his woeful misunderstandings and characterizes of science to create controversy where there is none. I wonder if Ben Stein went to his school?

Is this a fact? I assume that you know exactly what light is, correct? This is the only way you could know, for a fact, that light is not attracted by gravity!

What is light, dvnt?
Your beliefs will determine your conclusion, based on the facts!

No, I don't know exactly what light is. No one does at this moment. It behaves as both wave and particle and that is quite a mystery at the moment, a mystery that many people are working on.

What we do know is that light (visible light that is) is an electromagnetic wave composed of photons. That's right, the same energy that brings you music into your car can be seen with your eye if the wavelength is small enough.

It is a fact though that light is not "attracted" to gravity in the sense that Hovind attempts to explain.

The speed of light is a physical constant. Its value is exactly 299,792,458 metres per second, often approximated as 300,000 kilometres per second or 186,000 miles per second,It is the speed of electromagnetic radiation in vacuum, where there are no atoms, molecules or other types of matter that can slow it down,so the speed of light is depends on which medium is use.
