I read the first three sections of the book and think it does a great job of explaining belief and why beliefs are such a danger to being a logical (and good) human being. I wonder if you have studied the Julian Jaynes book "The Orgin of Consciousness...." I think it goes a long way to augment your personal theory about how religion became such an established belief.

When most people use the word God they are not aware that the word God in the dictionary refers to the God of Moses whose name was Yahweh. If you use the word god, you could be talking about any of the thousands of other gods.

So my question to you is, which God or god are you refering to?

If the school boad votes to silence the debate between the Theory of Evolution and the truth of Intellengent design (i.e. Divine Creation) they are clearly bigots who are afraid of exposing the truth.
