A little help here(Wasn't sure where to post the quest)

a philosophical view, is the position that either affirms the nonexistence of gods or rejects theism. When defined more broadly, atheism is the absence of belief in deities, alternatively called nontheism.

Hello everyone

I believe in God and Jesus but refuse to go to church/follow the church.
Would this cause any problems between me and God?

I wouldn't think so! You can rest assured that God wont hold it against you mainly because there is no such thing as God!

Well I'm sure that like most christians believe you can just smooth it all over with him when you grow old and everything will be okay. I mean, most I know barely go to church and commit all sorts of crimes against the egocentric commandments, but they'll work it out later when they've finished being evil. I don't go, but then again I would be a complete hypocrite seeing as I usually see fairy-tales as fairy-tales.

I'm curious, why do you think anyone has the capacity to answer this question?

In my opinion, you are not looking for truth, but emotional comfort and solidarity among others, which is always the case with religion.

Personally, I pity folks like you who feel as if they were born with something wrong with them. Religion is a shameful disease to inflict upon someone.

lets just for the sake of argument i'll pose as there is a benevolent omnipotent being that guides our destiny and was responsible for our creation.

So, if god made you, and your existence on this world differentiates because of him, then answer me.
why did he ever gave you free will, a mind, feet, arms, the capacity to accept new ideas and act by a personal moral compass, if he didn't want you to use them?

would you accept these god's gifts as "evil" just because they stir you away from blindly believing whatever your church is asking of you? would you call atheists morally wrong because they use logic and knowledge as their guiding light?
